Asset Management

Asset management is very similar to property management but taking a slightly different view. Whilst property management focuses on the effective running of properties from day to day, asset management focuses on adding value to the property as a form of investment.

Abernile has approximately 6.1m ft² of space under management.

Our goal of asset management is to maximise any extra value within that property interest. Whilst this is reliant on market values and what the property ownership or tenancy's value is, actively managing the asset to determine how things can be changed to increase the value, whether planning or short or longer term investment.

Reducing costs and expenditure are important, but not necessarily the main focus, as the goal is to unlock the hidden value in the property even if there is an increased initial cost for the sake of a greater long-term return.

Property asset management has tended to focus more on commercial property simply because of the greater opportunities and value involved, but certainly still applicable for residential interests, particularly larger multi-let and mixed-use schemes.
